Victor-Andres Cruz

Multi-instrumentalist, performer, songwriter/composer/arranger, and educator; Victor-Andres holds a BM from Berklee College of Music and has done extensive research and studies with master musicians of the Colombian tradition. He is an active member of Bulla en el Barrio and Bulla en Austin, which are the only Bullerengue Collectives in the United States. He has also collaborated, performed and/or recorded with world-renowned artists such as Latin Grammy Award winners Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto (the oldest and one of the most important traditional groups in Colombia,) Colombian Jazz master Antonio Arnedo, New York’s renowned Colombian band MAKU SoundSystem, Legendary Cuban Bassist Israel “Cachao” López, Bossa Nova Queen Rosa Passos, Miles Davis’ former bass player and jazz legend Mr. Cecil McBee, Jazz/Rock legendary American guitarist Marc Ribot, Colombian harp virtuoso Edmar Castañeda, Colombian percussion virtuoso Samuel Torres, Colombian singer and Latin Grammy Award winner Marta Gómez, Latin jazz bassist and Grammy Award winner John Benítez and Cuban percussionist Pedro “Pedrito” Martínez, Grammy Award winner Colombian band Bomba Estereo and the legendary Reggae band The Wailers, among many others.
