Dina Faktor was born in the former USSR. She attended her first Music School at the age of 7, from which she graduated with honors.
Her passion for music, and piano in particular, led her to attend a Music College and major in Piano Pedagogy and Performance. After graduation, Dina attended Odessa’s Pedagogical University, where she received her MA in teaching music.
In 1990 she moved to the US, setting in Wisconsin, where was working as accompanist for the Milwaukee Ballet Company and taught piano at Cardinal Stritch University.
For the past 30 years Dina also ran a successful Piano Studio, teaching students ranging in ages 5-70.
Her kind approach and her dedication earned her the reputation of a teacher sought out for National and State Competitions.
Her long time students and parents often note how the structure she provides and passion for music she cultivates emanate into other areas of her
students’ lives. Dispite her classical training, Dina thinks that piano studying has to be fun.
Recently, Dina moved to San Diego to live near her daughter Paulina, a local architect. She enjoys spend time with family and really likes being able to take beach walks in the winter.
