Julia Hindle is a classical cellist, born and raised in San Diego, California. She began playing cello at the age of 11 in her school district’s music education program. A growing love for the cello led Julia to pursue music in college, where she is currently studying. Participating in the San Diego Youth Symphony from 2018-2020 and local musical productions like the Wizard of Oz in 2019 helped her to realize that music is something she wants to help others to learn about and experience for themselves. Julia began teaching cello at the age of 18 and has since learned so much from her teaching experience. In the past, she has studied with local teachers and is now taking from the cello professor at Boston University and former BSO member. Julia’s teaching philosophy is to make music something that is beautiful and fun, but challenging at the same time. She wants her students to be able to take something positive from every lesson. In her spare time, Julia loves getting lost in books, singing and playing ukulele, going to coffee shops, and spending time with her dog, Rocky.
