Aaron Shepherd was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he began playing guitar in his early adolescences. At 18, he began professionally teaching and stuck with it for the next 8 years while performing in his own original bands, and other cover bands and groups. In 2012, he acquired his A.A. degree majoring in Music with a focus on Jazz Guitar Performance from Howard Community College in Columbia, MD. After college, his third original band toured the East Coast multiple times from Massachusetts to Florida. Currently, Aaron is focusing on his new original band, still performing side gigs and working on side projects while living in Austin, Texas. Aaron’s teaching curriculum has always focused on keeping his students interested by showing them how to play their favorite songs or songs they know while using that as a doorway to teach Guitar, Music Theory, and Composition techniques. Although laid back, Aaron keeps things structured, organized, and moves at pace that is comfortable for the student in regards to their skill level and what they want to learn. Aaron firmly believes curriculums should be catered to the individual.
