Lina Jeong

Committed to teaching all ages, Lina has taught violin and viola for eight years privately and in group settings in Milwaukee and Chicago. She is exceptionally dedicated to investing in music education for children. In 2018, she co-founded a volunteer youth orchestra, Exploration Orchestra, and currently serves as the music director. The Exploration Orchestra performs community concerts and nursing home performances throughout the year.

Lina studied Violin and Conducting at Loyola University Chicago, double majoring in Music and French Language & Literature. Lina performed in masterclasses and studied with accomplished violinists including Almita Vamos, MingHuan Xu, Liba Shacht, and Lilian Wang. She participated in conducting symposia with renowned conductors including James Smith, Michael Haithcock, Travis Cross, and Emily Threinen. Her passion for music motivated her to explore studies in composition, improvisation, music producing, and hip-hop production. Often performing for weddings and other community gigs, she arranges and writes music for multiple ensemble types of various levels of musicianship. She played in the Loyola Symphony Orchestra as the assistant concertmaster. She is also a violinist in the Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra.
