Davion Eugene Williams hails from Urbana, Illinois. Davion has always loved music, but it wasn’t until the 8th grade where he started his formal training. Currently, he is a part of the University of Illinois’ Black Chorus and also serve as Musical Arts Director at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Davion has performed in master classes with Roderick Dixon, George Shirley, and Costanza Cuccaro, just to name a few. He has studied under several voice instructors, as recent as Dr. Barrington Coleman and his wife Cynthia Haymon. Davion holds a BM in music performance from Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio and a MM music performance and literature from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. He has been teaching voice for 5 years. Davion’s style of teaching is laid back for all ages, doesn’t mind having fun, but he’s a firm believer of hard work before play,“Work Hard, Play Hard! Davion enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially with his daughter Azaryah.
