Daniel Marcotte

Dan Marcotte hails from Schaumburg, IL, and started playing trumpet and singing in 5th Grade and has ever stopped. He performs regularly as Dan the Bard at the Bristol Renaissance Faire, libraries, community centers, and conventions throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio. He is a founding member of The Whiskey Brothers, (Traditional Irish Band) that performs weekly at Ballydoyle Restaurant in Downers Grove. Dan has published 10 CDs, and has received awards for music and storytelling. He teaches voice, trumpet, piano, guitar, ukulele, lute,
traditional Irish instruments, as well as saxophone, clarinet, flute, oboe, trombone, baritone, and percussion. He is an excellent coach for songwriting and using recording technology such as Garage Band and Pro Tools. Dan holds a Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance and a Minor in Music for Trumpet and Music Education (Illinois Wesleyan University). In addition, he holds a Masters Degree in Musicology and a Certificate of Early Music (Florida State University). Dan has been teaching privately and in the classroom for the last 20 years, and currently lives in
Bolingbrook with his wife Carrie, his two sons Jacob and Lucas, and their dog, Copper.
