Peter Tracy

Peter Tracy grew up locally in Redmond, Washington, where he began playing cello in early childhood. After studying with Walter Gray of the Seattle Symphony, Peter went on to complete his bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington under renowned soloist Saeunn Thorsteinsdottir. Currently, Peter is an active performer within the musical community of the greater Seattle area, having played with ensembles such as the Harry Partch Ensemble, University of Washington Modern Music Ensemble, Seattle Philharmonic Strings, and Helios Symphony Orchestra. He is also active in commissioning new works from local composers such as Luke Fitzpatrick and Ryan Dakota Farris. Peter has performed in masterclasses for Anthony Arnone, Claire Bryant, and Seth Parker Woods. When he is not playing music, Peter enjoys working as a music journalist, reading, and spending time with his friends and family.
