David McKinzie, a musician born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee began appreciating music at a very young age. He first taught himself how to play the drum set around the age of 5 so he could play for his church band. Not much after, he began to teach himself keyboard/organ after being inspired by his favorite musician/artist, Ray Charles. He soon began to pursue music more seriously and attended guitar lessons and joined his school band around the 3rd grade. Shortly thereafter he discovered the bass guitar, which is now his favorite instrument to perform on! He knew that he had a natural gift on bass guitar so he always stuck with it. Later, David chose to study music in college as well, receiving a full tuition scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music and attained a degree in Business, Music Performance, and Music Production. Since then, David has shared the stage with countless talented individuals, George Clinton, Kirk Whalum, and Booker T. Jones just to name a few. He has also relocated to Los Angeles recently in 2020 to officially start up his artist career in music. This is just the beginning of David’s Odyssey.
