Tom Lee began studying the guitar at the age of 17. He started playing with friends in rock/garage bands with the electric guitar. At the age of 20 he discovered the Classical Guitar. He pursued a formal music education at CalArts and the Manhattan School of Music. His mentors and teachers include Miroslav Tadic, Jack Sanders, David Leisner and Mark Delpriora. He has performed throughout the NYC and the greater Los Angeles area and has taught privately for the past 28 years. His main area of expertise is in Classical Guitar but can teach various styles. He likes to find the area of interest of the student to help them reach the goal ofimproving their technique and understanding of the music. He believes in teaching proper technique sightreading and theory but can also help the student learn their favorite songs.
