Opera Singer Andres F. Losada, born in Bogota, Colombia; moved to Texas in 2019. Losada was awarded with Barbara Smith Conrad Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Fine Arts by the University of Texas at Austin and the Willa Stewart Setseck Scholarship by the Butler Opera Center for studying his Master’s Degree in Opera performance at the University of Texas at Austin.
Among his experience as a soloist opera singer, has performed in more than 20 productions around the United States, South America and Europe; including main roles at the Miami Classical Music Festival (FL), Franco-American Vocal Academy (TX), Butler Opera Center (TX), Northern Lights Music Festival (MN), Gilbert & Sullivan Music (TX), National Opera of Colombia (Colombia), The Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra (Colombia), among others. As a choral singer has performed in numerous concerts at the Notre-Dame Cathedral (Paris, France), The Milan Cathedral (Milan, Italy), San Nicolo all’Arena (Verona, Italy), World Expo 2015 (Milan, Italy), F.A. Bonporti Conservatory (Trento, Italy), Piazza Cavalli (Piacenza, Italy), Piazza del Comune (Cremona, Italy), Chiesa Arcipretale (Tione, Italy), among others.
Andres Losada has also studied piano for more than 3 years at the Central University of Colombia. For over 6 years has taught voice and piano lessons to different students of all levels (from beginners to advance). He is a passionate for teaching and sharing his knowledges; as a voice teacher he has been also invited to give several masterclasses to the “Opera for Everyone Foundation” in Huila, Colombia. He truly believes that teaching is a gift for the humanity; it allows art to keep alive and allows constructing a better society.
Mr. Losada is also a fluent speaker in Spanish, Italian and French.
