Beth Alderete is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist as well as an experienced certified early childhood educator from New Mexico. She began classical training in piano at five years old and continued her tutelage through college. At an early age, Beth became proficient in performance throughout her experience in school bands and ensemble groups including the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra-sponsored Mozart Marathon and Bach Marathon concerts as a pianist, vocalist, and clarinetist. She was named an All-State musician (clarinet) during high school and dedicated her time to her disciplines throughout her experience as an undergrad student including New Mexico State University Pride Marching Band, NMSU Roadrunner Revue, NMSU Symphonic Band, a soloist and section leader on saxophone in the New Mexico Highlands University jazz ensemble and as a vocal soloist in ‘HU Singers and NMHU concert choir. Upon moving back to her hometown of Las Vegas, NM, Beth became an active member of the music community, participating as mentor and teacher wherever opportunity would arise. Her involvement reignited her passion for jazz and encouraged her induction as a regular member of the band, Contrafact, where she sings, scats, and plays her sax regularly in New Mexico and Colorado.
