Cali Alexander started playing the flute at the age of twelve, and she began performing in youth orchestra at fifteen. She holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Flute Performance from the University of Arkansas. Since graduation, she has maintained a private flute studio, and she now has 15 years’ teaching experience. She has successfully taken pedagogy courses in all the basic band and orchestra instruments, along with piano courses and voice classes. Cali has performed a variety of styles – classical, latin, asian, jazz, and contemporary. Besides classical flute, Cali studies the honkyoku repertoire of shakuhachi (the Japanese bamboo flute of Zen). Her teaching style is influenced by a variety of methods, arts, and instructors, but hard-work and consistency is the way to excel through your musical goals. She’s excited to get you on track!
