Ethan Minard is passionate about performing piano and enthusiastic about sharing his extensive knowledge of piano and music theory with others. He is classically trained but also well versed in the areas of jazz, improvisation, popular music, and music theory.
Ethan’s interest in music started at age seven when he started taking piano lessons from a local teacher Leslie Hermann. Within a few years he began entering into piano judgings and auditions, regularly getting the top score. His days competing culminated in him winning the senior division of his local community orchestra concerto competition. Most Recently Ethan has studied classical piano at the University of Colorado under the professors Dr. Jennifer Hayghe, Dr. Alexandra Nyguen and Dr. Margaret Macdonald. Ethan is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music along with a business minor, a music entrepreneurship certificate, and a music technology certificate, and is expected to graduate in May, 2020. When not in school, Ethan performs piano at a bed and breakfast in his hometown of Dillon Colorado, playing a nightly 2 hour set of classical, jazz, and original arrangements of popular songs. In his free time he enjoys hiking, trail running and skiing.
