Kristina Cooper

Kristina is originally from Chicago where she started the violin at the age of 4 with the Suzuki method, which she completed in its entirety, and she is also Suzuki certified. For the last 15 years she has been a part of the Do It Yourself Messiah in Chicago alongside her mentor Richard Young, and has been an instrumental loan recipient through Rachel Barton Pine’s Foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performace degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts where she studied with Yuan-Qing Yu and David Taylor. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Longy School of Music where she studied with Nathan Cole. She recently completed the Certificate program through UCLArts & Healing and volunteers regularly with the organization Music Mends Minds based in Santa Monica.
