Sam deSoto is a performer, teacher, and conductor originally from Long Island, NY. He is pursuing degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education at Boston University. Sam has a widespread performance resume; performing in operas with Odyssey Opera, Boston Opera Collaborative, and the Janiec Opera Company, in musical theater with the College Light Opera Company, and in professionally recorded choirs in the Boston area. He regularly composes and conducts his own choral works. Sam also has over 10 years of saxophone experience and is a member of the BU Pep Band.
Sam is a Teaching Fellow with Boston Children’s Chorus, acting as assistant conductor for a talented group of middle school singers. With them he has conducted at the Strand Theater, Huntington Theater, and at the Three Trebles Festival in Washington, D.C. Sam takes pride in sharing his joy and enthusiasm for music and performing with others, establishing real connections with students and peers to foster a love of music and respect for each other.
